After 17 years as a homebuilder and real estate broker in Arlington, TX, my mortgage lending career began in 1989 at SFM Mortgage of Bedford, TX. Over the next 12 years, I held positions within the company ranging from Loan Officer to President. In 2001, I accepted the position of Sr. Vice President with Northstar Bank of Texas in Denton, TX, along with the responsibility of organizing and managing a new mortgage division. After 3 years in management, my role changed to that of Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer, the position I hold today and one that allows me to concentrate solely on mortgage origination and closing.

So, why should someone trust me with their mortgage business?

Experience is the primary reason. During my 20 year lending career, I’ve personally originated and closed $400 million in permanent mortgages. Add the real estate knowledge I acquired prior to entering the mortgage business and the knowledge I gained from managing two mortgage operations and the result is a lender that has a thorough understanding of the retail mortgage business and knows what it takes to get DFW Metroplex Mortgages closed.

Being local is another reason. I’m not a voice at some distant mortgage call center. Instead, I’m someone that’s available to meet with clients on an individual basis to discuss their needs and financial goals. My staff is also local, working from a single location in Denton, TX.

Another reason is the organization supporting me. Northstar Bank of Texas, one of the largest locally owned banks in the DFW Metroplex, continues to maintain a financially sound balance sheet and profitable income statement. I also have the backing of a team of experienced, in-house processors, closers, and underwriters.

On a personal level, I went to public school and college in Arlington, TX, where I lived for 32 years. In 1998, I moved to Argyle in southern Denton County, which is where I reside today with my wife of 35 years, Karen. My favorite personal activities include anything involving my two grandchildren, travel, gym workouts, and working outdoors. I’m also an aviation enthusiast and volunteer pilot for the charitable organizations Grace Flight, Veterans Airlift Command, and Challenge Air.
