After working 17 years as a homebuilder and real estate broker in Arlington, TX, I began my mortgage lending career with SFM Mortgage of Bedford, TX in 1989. Over the next 12 years, I held positions within the company ranging from Loan Officer to President. In 2001, I accepted the position of Sr. Vice President with Northstar Bank of Texas in Denton, TX, along with the responsibility of organizing and managing a new mortgage division. After 3 years in management, my role within the bank changed to that of Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer.
Today, I’m a Mortgage Loan Consultant for a mortgage company that’s part of a regional bank with locations in Oklahoma and North Texas. We sell directly to Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mae and retain the servicing of those loans. We also keep, or portfolio, our jumbo loans. Therefore, our customers don’t have to worry about who they’ll be dealing with, or making payments to, after closing.
During my 21 year lending career, the knowledge I’ve gained from originating and closing $400 million in permanent mortgages gives me an in depth understanding of what it takes to get DFW Metroplex mortgages closed.
I went to public school and college in Arlington, TX, where I lived for 32 years. In 1998, I moved to Argyle, TX in southern Denton County, which is where I reside today with my wife of 36 years, Karen. My interests include anything involving my daughter and two grandchildren, travel, golf, and gym workouts. I’m also an aviation enthusiast and involved as a volunteer pilot for charitable organizations such as Angel Flight, Veterans Airlift Command, and Challenge Air.
